I was wondering about the 3D CNC woodcarving software for Apple’s OS X operating system. (I have a G5 iMac and Intel MacBook on running OSX 10.4 Tiger and the other 10.5 Leopard) I was wondering about the computer graphics formats CarveWright’s CNC uses – and any insights about drawing, scanning and converting clip-art for wood carving project on the Macintosh.

I also have a higher resolution external UVC compliant Logitech web camera that works great on both Macs (better than my built in Apple iSight) – and was wondering if I could grab still video pics with the webcam and then load it in a graphics program to convert the web cam image into a workable pattern. It’d be really neat to grab a still shot of friends or family and convert it for a carving project on the CarveRight.

Oh and P.S. — I really enjoy your YouTube instructional training videos on use of the Carve Wright CNC at http://www.youtube.com/digitalroute

I knew I wanted to buy one (I had seen the CompuCarve model at Sears) – but when I found I could get such a great discount price on an original CarveWright model on sale through your Wood Carving Machine Tips website and video – that was enough to convince me to get one and get my wooden sign-making business in gear.
